The value of Family Sessions with Teenagers

There is some unspoken rule out there that once kids get older, family photos get put on the back burner. While I understand the logic of it, there is also so much value in documenting this stage of life. Just like with the toddlers or kiddos, my ultimate goal is giving you a gallery of beautiful images with those that you love the most to keep you going when everything seems a little hard.

Working with this beautiful family for their Salt Lake family photos was so much fun! A lot of times there are worries that lifestyle photography sessions are impossible for families with older children, but this just isn’t the case! I love to capture your authentic selves outside of the typical awkward smile photos we see from our kids.

We met for this photo session just thirty minutes before sunset at Tunnel Springs overlooking the Salt Lake Valley. Everyone was dressed beautifully and ready to go. We chatted for a while as we made our way over to the session area. I love connecting with young adults and hearing all the good things going on in their lives, their hopes, and dreams!

It’s always the right time for family photos, this Salt Lake family session with teenagers is proof of that. These are our children’s memories we’re talking about! They don’t have to stop getting documented just because your babies are no longer babies.
